Nathaniel is pretending to be Uniqua, a character from the Backyardigans. Mommy is encouraging him to eat dinner.

Mommy: Does Uniqua like spinach?

NTB: Uniqua's not the only one who likes spinach.

M: So does Uniqua like spinach?

N: No.

M: But I thought you just said that she's not the only one who likes spinach. That means she likes spinach.

N: Uniqua likes garbage cans.

M: Does Uniqua eat garbage?

N: No. She eats dinosaur food.

M: Well, this is actually dinosaur food (indicating spinach).

N: Oh!

M: Would Uniqua like a bite?

N: Yes. (eating spinach) Mmmm. Uniqua loves dinosaur food!

Elmo's fingernails

We were talking about anger, after NTB got scratched in the face by a little girl at the playground.

NTB: Elmo gets angry sometimes.

Jenn: Yes he does. He probably doesn't scratch people when he's angry, does he?

NTB: No. Because Elmo doesn't have fingernails.
